Biography

Marija Koneska is a Macedonian visual artist, currently based in Rome, Italy. In 2008 she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Skopje, in the department of graphic art, and in 2015 she got her MA at the painting department, the same faculty.

Through many creative acts, Maria's practice draws on others' experiences and transforms them into artwork. . The projects she creates are developed through conversation with others, through collecting images, stories with the intention of bringing people's attention to everyday problems.

She uses various techniques and materials.

Her solo shows include exhibitions in the Museum of City of Skopje (North Macedonia, 2018), Prima Centre (Germany, 2015), Youth Cultural Centre - Skopje (North Macedonia, 2008), etc. Her works were exhibited on XII Biennale of Young Artist (North Macedonia, 2018), International Winter Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2017) AKTO festival (North Macedonia, 2016), "Das ist Walter" (Germany, 2013), etc.

Graphic artist in film production has been part of her professional experience for many years.
